Phylogeny and phytogeographic history of extant angiosperm families; multiple-organ paleobotanical investigations including investigations of flowers, fruits, pollen, leaves and wood; Paleocene and Eocene floras of the Rocky Mountains and northeastern China; Eocene and Oligocene floras from the John Day Basin, Oregon.
